Mobile payments have exploded in popularity in recent months, as more and more of us save time by tapping and paying. Barclaycard has been at the forefront of pioneering contactless, providing the systems for travel purchases in London, and the first payment-enabled wearable.
Today, though, it went a step further, announcing Barclaycard Anything, which allowed customers to use contactless payments for nearly anything.
“Since we made wristbands, gloves and donkey rides contactless last year we’ve been inundated with requests from customers asking us to make all sorts of things into a way to pay,” Katherine Whitton, chief marketing officer at Barclaycard said. “We want to give consumers the ability to pay in the way they want so, with innovation at the core of our business, we’ve developed purpose-built kiosks where they can turn anything into a contactless payment device.”

These are so awesome. I love the fact that these Tech companies do this. The only one I did see was the Google flip-reverses, which we enjoyed playing around with here in the office:) I wonder what they will have up their sleeve next year?
