Salesforce has announced at the Cloudforce event in London that it will launch an apprenticeship scheme which will train 20 young adults this year.
The BizAcademy Apprenticeship scheme will provide a six week course in using Salesforce.com as well as general business skills, which leads on to a two-year apprenticeship within a company that uses Salesforce. The scheme will pay “up to £100+ a week”, and includes training provided by specialist youth training company Skills for Growth Landmark,.
BizAcademy aims to get 16-24 year old NEETs with GCSEs into full-time work. They will get £30 travel expenses a week, and will come out of the scheme with an NVQ level 2/3 as well as cloud computing experience and a Salesforce training.
The programme is supported by the Salesforce.com Foundation, through which the company aims to harness one percent of its employees’ time, one percent of its pre-IPO value, and one percent of the company’s product on social initiatives
