Acer Chromebook 14 Brings All-Day Power

Acer has revealed the latest addition to its impressive Chromebook line-up with its first ever 14in device.

The Chromebook 14 is Acer’s first to feature a body made completely from aluminium, meaning it weighs in at just 1.54kg and it just 0.67in thick.

Perhaps more impressively, the device will supposedly come with a 14-hour battery life, meaning it will easily live through a whole day’s extensive usage.

Solid

Powered by an Intel dual-core N3060 Braswell Celeron chip clocked at 1.6Ghz, the Chromebook 14 is available in two different versions sporting variable components.

The regular model features a 1366 x 768 HD display, a choice of 2GB or 4GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage and the above-mentioned 14 hours of battery life.

However, there is also a Premium version on sale, which comes with a 1920x1080p IPS FullHD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and around 12 hours of battery life.

Both models also come with dual USB 3.1 ports, an HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.2, 801.11ac Wi-Fi, stereo speakers and a 720p webcam.

Available to pre-order on Amazon now and available on general sale by April, the Premium version will cost $299/€249, with exact UK pricing and costs for the basic model coming soon.

“With its industry-leading battery life of up to 14 hours, the Acer Chromebook 14 is an important new product in Acer’s award-winning Chromebook line,” said Jerry Kao, president of Acer notebook business group.

“Customers have a wide range of needs for battery life, size, performance and features, and our line of Acer Chromebooks is expanding to make sure customers get exactly what they want. The Chromebook 14 is an excellent choice for customers who want a stylish, large-screen Chromebook with long battery life at an attractive price.”
