Microsoft, Apple, Amazon. These tech firms are all household names, but why are they called that?
The stories behind some of these names is enthralling, others are fairly boring and some are quite disappointing.
Others hint at a previous life, the origins of the business or those who helped create it. One or two are lazy backronyms, but that shouldn’t detract from the achievements they have since made.
Or would a rose by any other name smell just as sweet?
