CES 2015 – Say Hello To The Super Smartphone With 320GB Of Storage

Much has been made of smartphones gradually turning into all-singing, all-dancing media devices, but what if you want to use your mobile to store your entire film or music library?

Utah-based company Saygus has taken the wraps off its V2 smartphone at CES 2015, which it hopes will stand out from the rest of the mobile device crowd thanks to its frankly ridiculous 320GB of storage.

The V2, Saygus’ second release following its first smartphone last year, will begin shipping early 2015, with pre-orders opening this month.

Hefty

Asides from its mound of storage, the V2 packs some fairly impressive other specifications and features. A 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 3GB RAM powers the device, which will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

The 1080p FHD 5in screen is housed in body made up of kevlar and aluminium sides and a tough fiberglass body which is less than 10mm wide. Despite the slimline build, however, this still includes a 3100 mAh battery with an integrated battery saving chip, which can offer up to 50 percent additional battery life.

Also included are 21MP rear and 13MP front cameras, both of which feature optical image stabilisation functions and dual LED flash, and Harman Kardon speakers which provide 3D sound.

It also comes with a range of neat functions built in, including a biometric fingerprint scanner, built-in QI wireless charging, and a waterproof IPX7 rating, meaning it should survive any accidental trips to the swimming pool.

“The Saygus V2 is the embodiment of what we believe consumers want in a mobile device,” said Chad Sayers, founder of Saygus. “Our super smartphone takes the best functionality and usability of current high-end smartphones and adds an unparalleled level of innovation with several features that are unique to the V2.”
