Microsoft Set To Reveal IE 9 Secrets

Microsoft is slated to share some information on Internet Explorer 9 at the company’s Professional Developers Conference here.

According to sources and published reports, Microsoft will reveal some details about the next version of its IE browser during the keynote session on 18 Nov.

In his PDC keynote on 17 Nov, Microsoft Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie spoke of the value of IE and Silverlight to Microsoft’s overall development platform.

A post on Neowin.net said: “According to sources close to Neowin, Microsoft VP Steven Sinofsky is set to unveil the software giant’s plans for Internet Explorer 9 tomorrow. Neowin understands that the company is planning a technical preview of Internet Explorer 9 for developers and customers, but that the bits and preview may not be available immediately.”

And All About Microsoft added: “Even before IE 8 was released, developers and users already had a long list of feature improvements that they are hoping the Microsoft IE team [will include] in IE 9.

“Microsoft released IE 8 to the Web in March 2009. The team has been on a mission to deliver new releases of IE more rapidly, but it’s unclear whether the IE team will be able to get a new version out any faster than every two years.”
