IBM Teams Up With AT&T For Greater Mobile Cloud Security

IBM is partnering with network specialists AT&T to help companies secure their data and apps with a new platform that will offer customer simple and secure access to the cloud across their organisation.

“Balancing employees’ need for convenience with security has become a challenge for CISOs and CIOs across the world,” said Caleb Barlow, vice president, IBM Security. “To help protect organisations, employees and data, IBM Security and AT&T are delivering a tested and easy to deploy set of complimentary tools. We’re giving enterprise mobile device users stable, private access to data and apps in the cloud.”

The new offering will be made up of four services, namely IBM Cloud, IBM MobileFirst Protect, AT&T NetBond, and AT&T Work Platform.

All four come together to help create a safe and secure platform, with IBM Cloud providing the SoftLayer infrastructure to secure public and private clouds for applications and data storage, and AT&T NetBond providing a scalable network connection to SoftLayer.

The AT&T Work Platform enables separate billing of business and personal charges for voice, messaging and data use on an employee’s personal handset, and will combine with IBM MobileFirst Protect, which helps organisations manage and control mobile devices, apps and documents.
