Modular Data Centres Hit The UK With IO’s BASELAYER Deal

IO’s modular data centre offspring BASELAYER will now have its hardware exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Finning.

Phoenix-based IO split into two separate divisions in December, splicing its colocation and cloud services from the modular data centre business.

Modular data centres

“BASELAYER’s data centre infrastructure has been adopted by some of the most demanding enterprise technology users in the world,” said Ian Wilcoxson, Market Sector Manager – Data Centre Power Solutions at Finning.

“The standardised modules, built using lean manufacturing principles, deliver high levels of reliability, security and efficiency.”

By partnering with BASELAYER, Finning can distribute operational data centre capacity wherever and whenever customers need it, in or out of a building, on or off the utility grid.

Peter McNamara, Executive VP of Worldwide Sales and Customer Operations at BASELAYER, said: “Finning is known and respected for providing efficient energy and power solutions to large enterprises. We’re pleased that they’ve identified BASELAYER’s technology as a compelling solution for their customers.

“The partnership expands BASELAYER’s reach and strengthens our ability to transform the data centre industry.”
