Earlier this week, TechWeekEurope readers gathered at Bar Soho in London to talk about firewalls, passwords and other things related to information security, at a quarterly Tech Club meeting.
Turns out that most of them show a sensible approach, with security budgets staying level and good firewall a top priority.
In November 2012, TechWeekEurope launched Tech Club – a community for IT professionals to share knowledge, foster new relationships and occasionally drink a few beers in good company.
According to research presented by editor-in-chief Peter Judge, security budgets are static or going up for 88 percent of our readers’ organisations, but more than half of them still feel they don’t have enough money at their disposal.
Since 55 percent said their security budgets doesn’t cover all the threats they encounter, it’s clear that our readers have to prioritise – and here, the humble firewall was a favourite with 46 percent of respondents. It was followed by antivirus, security education and password management.
After the presentation, attendees could enjoy the open bar while upstairs, in an area dubbed ‘Max’s boudoir’, some club members shared their thoughts on camera.
Below, you can see some of the highlights from the third Tech Club meeting.
