HTC has announced the Desire 320, the latest in its range of affordable Android handsets.
The successor to the popular Desire 310, the new handset looks to be a cost-friendly mid-range device, sporting a quad-core 1.3Ghz MediaTek processor and 1GB RAM. Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the Desire 320 comes with 8GB of internal storage, which can be boosted by a microSD card, and a 2100mAh battery which the company says can provide up to 12 hours of continual use.
HTC is very keen to promote the media capabilities of the device, which comes with a 5MP rear camera which can shoot 1080p video. The company has also included its VideoHighlights tool, which allows users to make films by building up a sequence of their favourite photos and videos.
HTC has also packed its BlinkFeed service into the Desire 320, making it easy for users to keep up to date with the latest news headlines on their device. The program combines content from news and social media sites to build a personalised feed on the device’s home screen.
Users can also catch up with the latest news using Offline Reading mode, which allows them to download and add articles to your reading list when connected to Wi-Fi to access and enjoy at a later date.
