Ryan,
a leading global tax services and software provider, announced the hiring
of William Pardue as Principal in the Firm’s State Income and Franchise
Tax (SIFT) practice.
Based in New
York
, he will be responsible for expanding Ryan’s
SIFT practice
across the greater Tri-State area.

Pardue, who has practiced tax litigation as an attorney in New Jersey,
brings to Ryan a specialized understanding of working with multinational
and government entities within the bounds of tax and law. In this role,
he will leverage his experience as a key resource for all new business
projects in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and provide necessary
direction to Ryan clients currently outsourcing SIFT assistance and
application.

“William’s strength is helping others understand the intricacies of the
law and translating this knowledge to the world of tax and how to best
serve our clients,” said President
of Ryan U.S. Operations Damon Chronis
. “As state income and
franchise taxes evolve across the country, specifically in the
Northeast, we are confident he will represent Ryan effectively and help
grow our SIFT practice in a significant way for all Ryan clients we
serve in this region.”

Prior to joining Ryan, Pardue excelled as a tax attorney at regional law
firms and a national accounting firm. He also clerked with the Superior
Court of New Jersey and began his career as a legal intern with the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“The tax industry is evolving rapidly because it is no longer solely
about accounting. Firms should provide an understanding of the law and
how tax is interpreted through a lens of the law in any specific
jurisdiction,” said Pardue. “Ryan is a Firm that understands it
is no longer siloed in the services it provides, whether in the
Tri-State area or anywhere around the world. I am thrilled we are
addressing a growing need like state income and franchise tax for our
clients in this region.”

Pardue earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration
and management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and
a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. Pardue is
a board member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Alumni
Association in New York City. He is also called upon by industry
organizations to author and present on SIFT-related issues and state and
local taxes (SALT), including recent legislation, judicial opinions, and
the intersection of SALT in other areas of tax.
