U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action (USFRA) announced its fifth annual Honor the Harvest Forum. The multi-day convening on a local ranch will bring together leaders from across the food and agriculture value chain to hold a dialogue centered on co-creating sustainable food systems of the future.

Honor the Harvest is designed to connect executive leaders and agricultural producers to generate new ideas, partnerships, and actions to advance sustainable food, fuel, and fiber across the value chain. Attendees will consider the future of agriculture and hear from panelists on the following topics:

  • The future of U.S. agriculture

  • Scientific evidence supporting the transition to a carbon negative agriculture sector

  • Accelerating climate-smart agriculture through investment

  • Supporting a life cycle of engagement for our next generation of farmers and ranchers

“By bringing together leaders from across the food and ag value chain under one tent, we have the opportunity to collaborate on solutions for the future of U.S. and global agriculture,” said USFRA and Dairy Management, Inc. (DMI) Chair Marilyn Hershey. “Overcoming the barriers to adopting climate-smart practices that farmers and ranchers face is possible, but they cannot do it alone. Scientific research shows that the technology and practices needed to reduce agriculture’s carbon emissions exist, but investment from financial and food companies is needed for adoption at scale.”

The three-day event will take place Tues., Sept. 12 through Thurs., Sept. 14 at the G Bar C Ranch in Rosston, Texas. More information about the Forum can be found here.

“We look forward to facilitating a discussion on ways to accelerate US agriculture’s transition to a net zero future,” said Mary Shelman, Founder of the Shelman Group and this year’s Forum facilitator.
