The NAI Fellows Program was established to highlight academic inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.

In addition to his role at TrellisWare, Dr. Chugg is a Professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering where he has been a faculty member since 1996. He received his B.S. in engineering from Harvey Mudd College and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from USC.

Keith’s research at USC has focused on digital communication and coding theory, signal processing, deep learning, and hardware architectures for the resulting algorithms. Much of his academic research has transitioned to TrellisWare and, together with his work with TrellisWare engineers and researchers, forms some of the core technologies at TrellisWare.

“I am very proud of the work we have done at TrellisWare and being named a NAI Fellow is a great recognition for our entire team,” said Dr. Keith Chugg, co-founder and Chief Scientist at TrellisWare. “The best ideas don’t go anywhere without a team who can bring them to market. I am so grateful for our team at TrellisWare who have translated advanced theoretical concepts into products and services that are critical to our nation’s security.”

“We are pleased that Keith’s research efforts are recognized through this great honor,” said Metin Bayram, president and CEO of TrellisWare. “Keith’s role as a co-founder of TrellisWare was a critical component of our technological advancements and innovation in signal processing and wireless network approaches.”
