Transaction Network Services (TNS) and WannLynx today announced their collaboration to offer convenience store chains (c-stores) increased control and content management of their terminals instore and at the forecourt.
The deadline for upgrading gas pumps to EMV transactions is in October 2020. Since this technology upgrade requires a significant investment by store owners, the ability to deliver timely and value-added offers can lead to new revenue opportunities and help improve the return on investment of the new dispensers.
Most importantly, end-to-end control of a store’s terminals puts the c-store owner in the driver’s seat for the four-to-five minutes that it takes to fill a customer’s gas tank. The TNS—WannLynx collaboration enables c-stores to deliver key messaging and engage a customer with a variety of incentives to purchase other products or services.
Providing timely offers or discounts for instore products is a real-time method to raising the average sale price of a transaction. Besides product offers, c-stores can now display and air advertisements or videos from third parties further enhancing the revenue options in the forecourt.
“As the deadline for EMV capability at the dispenser is just a year away, the TNS—WannLynx solution can provide added value services that can help offset the investment in new hardware,” said Deepak Wanner, President and CEO of WannLynx. “Our solution enables secure EMV transactions using TNS’ secure payment network while enhancing the customer experience at the pump.”
TNS provides the data communication solutions that enable all technical applications to flow through a single, secure connection simplifying the communications and delivering significant savings. Using its industry leading secure, managed data communications TNS connects AFDs while protecting both the retailer and the consumer.
WannLynx’s FuelLynx™ technology allows the store owner to customize the message both in the forecourt and instore while controlling the way content is displayed. FuelLynx enables the c-store owner to curate relevant offers for the consumer including incentives, discounts and order ahead services.
“TNS is pleased to be part of this revenue enhancing service in collaboration with WannLynx,” said Bill Versen, Chief Product Officer at TNS. “Our c-store customers are looking for customized content solutions that can expand their revenue opportunities while they upgrade their payment technology.”
