The Seam, a leading provider of food and agribusiness software and commodity trading solutions, today announced the expansion of its sustainability platform, allowing multi-crop farmers enrolling in the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol and the Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Initiative to link their enrollment records and streamline data gathering of common, sustainable farming practices.

The Trust Protocol and Peanuts Initiative are both powered by The Seam’s technology and introduce cotton and peanuts as the first two agricultural crops supported by the platform, with more to follow. Through the integrated solution, growers enrolled in the initiatives driven by the National Cotton Council and the American Peanut Council, respectively, can authorize the repurposing of their credentials and opt in to the secure and private transfer of sustainable farming information.

“Peanuts and cotton are common rotational crops, so growers who routinely rotate the two or farm within close proximity can benefit from engaging in sustainability practices for both,” said Mark Pryor, Chairman and CEO at The Seam. “By synchronizing authorized data on behalf of growers, The Seam is taking a big step in simplifying program enrollment, while improving the overall accuracy of information. This synchronization will be a major time-saving tool for producers, especially as we add additional row crops in the future.”

The Seam’s platform allows growers to use a single login account for participating initiatives. Enrolled farmers can quickly switch between crop-specific dashboards and authorize the synchronization of enrollment and registration information from one application to the other. For example, if a cotton grower is already enrolled in the Trust Protocol, approximately 80% of the Peanuts Initiative questions will have already been answered, saving significant time for the farmer.

The Seam is a Qualified Data Management Partner (QDMP) with Field to Market®: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture and provides direct integration with the Fieldprint® Platform for both cotton and peanuts.
