Leading language access company, Stratus Video, recently signed
an agreement with Community Health Ventures, the business development
affiliate of the National Association of Community Health Centers
(NACHC), as their preferred language access vendor. Now, Community
Health Centers across the nation can benefit from 24/7 access to
medically qualified interpreters through the Stratus Video application.

Health centers today serve over 28 million patients, more than 8 million
of whom are best served in a language other than English. In order to
address the diverse needs of such a large population, health centers are
required to provide a variety of enabling services to their patients,
including interpretation and translation services. Health center and
NACHC leadership believe that offering language services to English
proficiency (LEP) patients provides culturally sensitive communication
that respects the patient’s human dignity and ensures patient
participation in their care through a positive experience, which
enhances clinical outcomes.

Stratus Video language services will connect Community Health Center
providers to highly trained, medically qualified interpreters in
hundreds of languages within seconds, ensuring that every patient that
seeks care in a Community Health Center will receive communication in
their preferred language.

“We really connected with the NACHC’s commitment to patient-centered
care for all,” said David Fetterolf, Stratus Video President, “A lot of
LEP patients seek care in Community Health Centers. Through this
partnership we are ensuring that quality communication will take place.”

“The Stratus Video products are so easy to use,” said Danny Hawkins,
Senior VP of Community Health Ventures, “We feel confident that this
will be an easy implementation for Community Health Centers, and that
they will start seeing the benefits of good communication right away.”
