Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today announced that the company earned a spot on Forbes’ “Canada’s Best Employers 2024” list. The exclusive ranking is limited to 300 organizations in various industries countrywide, and Philips was one of only 3 companies throughout Canada included in the Healthcare Equipment & Services category. More information about this 9th installment of the ranking and a complete list of companies included is available here.

Philips is focused on improving the lives of more than a billion people each year through meaningful innovation. This requires a diverse workforce that encourages people to always bring their true and authentic selves to work. To support growth, Philips provides a career path with inspiring teams, learning resources, valuable professional experiences and strong recognition programs. There are opportunities for mentorship and more than 10 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) with 5,000+ employees in North America. Furthermore, the company offers a wide variety of benefits to help keep its people strong mentally and physically.

“This achievement is a testament to the dedication and passion of our incredible people, making it one of the best and most admired places to work in Canada,” said Britta Kroupa, Human Resources Leader, Philips North America. “We believe that a supported and engaged workforce is the foundation of our success, and we continue to invest in our people to maintain this unmatched workplace experience.”

This year’s list was determined by an independent survey of over 40,000 Canada-based employees from all industry sectors, working at companies employing at least 500 people within Canada. Over 900,000 employer evaluations were considered, and the top 300 companies have been awarded. Respondents were asked to rate their employer based on a range of criteria, including salary, gender pay-equity, work flexibility, opportunities for promotion and on-the-job training. They were also asked about their willingness to recommend any previous employers of the last two years. Participants were also given the opportunity to evaluate other employers in their respective industries, or the employers of friends, acquaintances, and family members that stand out either positively or negatively.
