In the 2021-22 school year, only 37% of middle school and 36% of high school students in Kentucky performed at the proficient level or above in mathematics on the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) tests. To help remediate learning loss and boost math scores, the Kentucky General Assembly has partnered with Accelerate Learning and the UF Lastinger Center for Learning to provide Math Nation to students, offering high-quality, easily accessible resources to support their math learning.

Thanks to this partnership, Math Nation-Kentucky is now available at no cost to all public schools and charter schools that choose to utilize the program. The supplemental Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 math program includes high-quality online and print resources as well as afterschool and weekend tutoring. Access to the program is funded by the General Assembly.

“To help our students overcome learning setbacks and move forward in mathematics, we need to provide innovative learning tools that they can access whenever and wherever they need them,” said Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer. “The legislature has reviewed Math Nation’s outcomes across several states, and we believe that this program’s powerful, interactive math tools will help our middle and high schools provide the extra support our students need right now.”

The partnership includes digital access to the Math Nation-Kentucky online resources, unlimited night and weekend tutoring via interactive Math Tutoring Walls, and 50,000 workbooks for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Students, teachers, and families can access Math Nation-Kentucky resources from the web, tablets, and smartphones 24 hours a day. In addition, implementation training is available for Kentucky schools and districts at no cost.
