E2open,

winners of the 2018 E2opennovation contest. Finalized after the end of
the company’s fiscal year, this annual competition gives E2open
employees the opportunity to develop new products and ideas to support
E2open clients, the company or its employees. A total of 182 employees
formed 52 teams to enter the contest, making it the largest in the
competition’s three-year history. In addition to monetary rewards, the
winning submissions are considered for implementation into E2open’s
portfolio of applications and network solutions, adding value to
customers and the business.
Two teams share the top winner’s spot. Both teams focused on artificial
intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for anomaly detection. One
winning team, called Augmented Intelligence, applied ML to improve
demand forecast accuracy by reducing the error in user planning
overrides. This entry also provides more dynamic lead times for better
planning outcomes across multiple tiers of a supply chain. The other top
winner, Team Satiates, applied ML to help identify unusual channel data
submissions and used ML classification techniques to help customers
expand their channel management options.
The team in the second winner’s spot is Concept Squad. This team
developed a real-time, comprehensive visibility solution demonstrating
E2open’s strength in combining network and applications to provide
visibility and traceability across the end-to-end supply chain. This
solution allows E2open to extend visibility into networks outside the
current portfolio.
