Flow Networks, creator of the Flow Platform that connects issuers and merchants with customers at the moment of payment and beyond, announced today that Doug Leighton has joined the team as a retained executive. Doug brings decades of experience in the payments space, and his appointment comes on the heels of retail tech veterans Don Kingsborough and Sam Shrauger joining Flow Networks as advisors.

The Flow Platform is an intuitive and powerful platform built on top of any payment feed, enabling card issuers and merchants to engage with customers multiple times a day, based on the customer’s real-time payment behavior. This new level of merchant-customer connectivity reduces waste, increases engagement, and builds brand value.

Leighton is a Founding Partner at Tahoma Advisors, where he supports community-based financial institutions, connecting and advising fintechs in the segment and providing payment strategy advice. He spent 23 years at Visa, where he led a team of account executives and managers responsible for strategic sales and relationship activities at more than 7,000 US-based Community Bank and Credit Union clients.

As a retained executive for Flow Networks, Leighton will assist and challenge company leadership on issues of strategy and execution and help Flow make connections to merchants, financial institutions, investors, and industry leaders.

Flow Networks Co-Founder Chris Boncimino is excited about the depth and breadth of experience Leighton brings to Flow Networks: “As we continue to disrupt the payment industry by reimagining the relationship between card issuers, merchants and their customers, we are privileged to work with the best and brightest in payments. We look forward to Doug’s invaluable insights as Flow Networks opens a new channel for real-time consumer-merchant interaction.”

It’s been a busy few months for Flow Networks. On top of rolling out a veritable who’s who of the payments industry advisors and the inaugural implementation of the Flow Platform at San Francisco’s Ace Wasabi restaurant in partnership with Copper, the Flow Networks team had a week of successful meetings at Money 20/20 in Las Vegas.
