Cyemptive Technologies, an award-winning provider of preemptive cybersecurity solutions for business and government, today announced that it has named former Branch Chief for Cyber Policy and Capabilities at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired U.S. Navy Commander Vince Dova, as Vice President of Security.

At the Pentagon, Dova advised the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on behalf of the Director, J6 Command, for cyber-related matters such as military network defense and cybersecurity for the Defense Industrial Base and Defense Critical Infrastructure, including coordinating across the Department of Defense, Interagency, National Security Council, and Congress. In his new role with Cyemptive, Dova is responsible for ensuring the security of intellectual property and client data, developing organizational and technical governance to enable the secure delivery of best-in-breed cybersecurity solutions to a rapidly-growing customer base, and planning security-relevant training/certification for company and client workforce.

“Dova’s understanding of the intersectionality of technology, society, public policy, and defense strategy will be invaluable to Cyemptive in helping us establish the organizational and operational footing to provide our security solutions to international clients at scale,” said Rob Pike, founder and CEO of Cyemptive.

A 20 year veteran of the Navy, Dova earned his wings as a helicopter pilot and was deployed all over the world, including four years at sea, logging nearly 2400 hours across five different rotary wing (helicopter) and fixed-wing types. He taught flight school, investigated aviation mishaps, managed air defense for a carrier strike group in the Gulf and earned a master’s degree in computer network operations.

“The time I spent at the Pentagon working Cyber Defense Policy for the Joint Staff convinced me that an evolutionary approach to cybersecurity is no longer enough – we need outside-the-box innovation to level the playing field in any meaningful way against the world’s malicious cyber actors,” said Dova. “I was intrigued by Cyemptive’s approach, and especially excited by the opportunity to join an agile, fast-growing company on the verge of doing great things.”

Cyemptive has created next generation layers of cybersecurity that are essential add-ons for businesses to achieve cyber safety. Cyemptive’s preemptive solutions, when added to the customer’s existing capabilities, eliminate damage from occurring even from previously unknown attack techniques, and are the only ones on the market today guaranteed to protect computing environments before or immediately following a compromise.
