Catasys, Inc. (NASDAQ:CATS) (“Catasys” or the “Company”), a leading AI and technology-enabled healthcare company, today announced Catasys PRETM (Predict-Recommend-Engage).
Catasys has long been recognized as the leader in utilizing a sophisticated algorithm to identify care avoidant members who have untreated behavioral health conditions. Now, Catasys is launching an evolved model—Catasys PRE—which applies the Company’s capabilities beyond behavioral health conditions to chronic conditions including, as examples, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and pulmonary disease.
“The data from healthcare delivery is complex, rarely interoperable and therefore underused,” stated Terren Peizer, Catasys Chairman and CEO. “Using the latest techniques in AI and over a decade of research, Catasys has solved these challenges by creating what we believe to be the most valuable technology platform for populations that are care avoidant or not engaging in care. We can now predictively and rapidly identify care avoidant individuals with major chronic disease and those for whom targeted interventions will improve outcomes and reduce the cost of care. This breakthrough approach to AI-based management of multi-source healthcare delivery data gives us the ability to achieve in minutes what typically takes months of manual work by highly trained healthcare data scientists. Catasys health plan partners have encouraged us to make these new AI capabilities available as soon as possible.”
The breakthrough result is Catasys PRE (Predict-Recommend-Engage), a unique analytics platform for the proactive delivery of interventions to address care avoidant members with chronic disease.
Unlike conventional approaches utilizing analytic software and common data science techniques, Catasys PRE automates healthcare delivery data integration and organization through application of machine intelligence, drastically reducing the time and cost to deliver analytic insight required to:
- PREDICT – Identify individuals for whom behavioral or medical intervention could help – clinically and financially.
- RECOMMEND – Generate care pathways that harness the intersection between what is effective, evidence-based care and what individuals are willing to do.
- ENGAGE – Build trust and positive change using sophisticated techniques and tools that encourage mental and physical behavior change, reduce costs and improve outcomes.
“We are excited to be applying our capabilities beyond behavioral health conditions,” said Catasys Chief Medical Officer Omar Manejwala, M.D. “We look forward to phenotyping these new medically ill populations and mapping them to effective interventions, in the same way that we have for behavioral health.”
