Archway Health, a full-service, tech-enabled partner to healthcare organizations in risk-based payment programs, today announced a complimentary offer to assess program opportunities for providers in, or considering participation in, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Bundled Payments for Care Initiative (BPCI) Advanced. The Opportunity Assessment will be powered by Archway Analytics, an industry-leading tool, and will help providers evaluate performance and identify future opportunities for success.

Providers who applied to participate in BPCI Advanced at the start of Model Year 3, January 1, 2020, are beginning to receive their historical baseline data and target prices from CMS. This data can be used to help them select which bundles to participate in. Those who are currently participating in the program will also have the opportunity to add or drop bundles before the start of Model Year 3. The deadline to finalize participation in Model Year 3 is December 1, 2019.

“For healthcare organizations to be successful in bundled payments, it begins with leveraging the data provided by CMS,” said Keely Macmillan, Senior Vice President of Policy & Solutions Management. “It’s critical these organizations align themselves with the resources that can provide a comprehensive view of their opportunity and confidently assess which bundles to proceed with. The window to make these important decisions is brief and we encourage providers to act quickly.”

Archway’s guidance and support to participants in BPCI Advanced include both strategic guidance from its team of professionals, and Archway’s data management platform, Archway Analytics. Both resources are available to clients on an ongoing basis, and Archway Analytics is particularly effective for organizations during this decision-making period.

Archway Analytics, easily accessible through an online portal, interprets monthly claims data provided to participants by CMS, and other data sources, to help them understand program performance, key performance drivers, and improvement opportunities. The platform is updated with new insights and refreshed within five days of CMS data availability. The platform capabilities include:

  • Projection of risk-adjusted episode prices, costs and expected NPRA
  • Key cost and utilization measures for various care providers for both acute and post-acute care
  • Identification of performance improvement opportunities through peer and regional benchmarks, and performance trend analysis
  • Case review support through detailed longitudinal views of patient episode experience
  • Program-specific considerations such as ACO and concurrent episode override rules

Archway has been involved in BPCI since the program began its original model in 2011. With a value-based care advisory team, plus technology for patient tracking and analytics, Archway works with both hospitals and speciality providers to help identify their opportunities in the program, improve clinical processes and realize the most value through every step of BPCI Advanced.

To receive a complimentary Opportunity Assessment for BPCI Advanced, providers may request one here or contact Ben Gardner, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, at bgardner@archwayha.com.
