Samsung Z2 Is A £52 4G-Enabled Tizen Smartphone

Tizen is alive it seems. Samsung is releasing a third smartphone running the mobile operating system in India and this time it has added 4G connectivity and local content in a bid to encourage more feature phone users to buy smartphones.

The Korean manufacturer is the most high profile backer of the open source Tizen OS and originally envisioned it as a way of reducing dependency on Google’s Android, but this vision has been diluted somewhat.

“Samsung Z2 makes 4G accessible and relevant to the unique needs of feature phone users and first time smartphone buyers,” boasted Manu Sharma, head of Samsung’s Indian mobile business. 2It brings consumers a fast and affordable mobile internet experience that will democratize 4G usage in the country.”
