The Samsung Galaxy S7 Will Stand Tough In All Weather

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone will look to include nearly every top feature on the mobile device market today, according to new reports.

The latest round of leaks surrounding the device, set to be revealed on Sunday in Barcelona, appear to show that the device will feature waterproof casing and wireless charging capability.

Coming soon

The details were revealed in an unlisted YouTube video which looks to have been accidentally posted online showing off the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Although it doesn’t mention the device by name, the Indonesian-language video, entitled “Get Ready for #TheNextGalaxy”, shows that the Galaxy S7 Edge can be used in a wide number of situations, including heavy rain (see main image), without suffering any side effects.

The video, starring Indonesian Olympic archers Dellie and Lilies Handayani (pictured above) also shows that the device is able to charge wirelessly using an accompanying pad, marking a return for the technology Samsung first introduced in the Galaxy S5 back in 2014, and sync with wearable devices to share fitness data.

An accompanying Samsung Indonesia website shows five teaser images focusing on key features of the new device, including the waterproofing and low-light camera functions, alongside privacy protection and a cutting-edge design.

Pricey

Pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S7 has also apparently been revealed, as Dutch technology blog Tweakers published a list of European prices for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with 32GB of internal storage.

It claims that the 32GB Galaxy S7 and 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge will cost €699 (£540) and €799 (£620) respectively.

This is slightly less that the Galaxy S6, which cost £599, and the Galaxy S6 Edge (£699) on its UK launch last year, although both these prices dropped a few months after launch as Samsung looked to improve sluggish sales.

TechWeekEurope will be in Barcelona for the Samsung launch event on Sunday, so stay tuned for all the news.
