Intel Brings Mac Pro Xeon Chips To Laptops
Intel’s Xeon chips are coming to notebooks as firm announces E3-1500M v5 product family
Intel is going to be slamming its Xeon processors into laptops with a new range of chips built on Skylake architecture.
“Content editors, designers and engineers take note,” boasted Intel in its rather brief announcement.

The firm, hot from revealing its plans for a new type of memory called 3D XPoint, outlined how its Xeon E3-1500M v5 series of chips are designed from the ground up for laptops and notebooks.
According to Intel, the chips bring “high precision computing horsepower to a notebook and supports key features like error-correcting code memory for enhanced reliability while running critical workstation applications”.
The chips will obviously come with certified drivers for engineering applications, and support hardware-assisted security, manageability and productivity capabilities of Intel vPro technology.
“Mobile workstations featuring Intel Xeon processors as well as Thunderbolt 3 technology will be available this fall,” said the firm.
These Xeon chips have only be available before in Mac Pro desktops, devices that will set you back well over £2,000, so the news shows how Skylake is going to start trickling down into more affordable devices.
