How much virtualisation is there in your company? We’d like to know at TechWeekEurope.
Virtualisation is the best way to make services more efficient and cut the cost and overhead of running IT in an organisation. Or at least, that is what we are told. We want you to tell us if it’s all true.
Virtualised services have an extra layer of software between the actual hardware and the services running in the company, so instead of running a mail server on an actual physical server, it is run on a virtual machine, which can be placed on any of the company’s physical servers or even out on the cloud.
As well as servers, networks and storage can be virtualised – and doing so will increase IT flexibility as well as allowing resources to be used more effectively.
We get a barrage of positive PR about virtualisation, but how does it match with reality? We’d like you to take a few minutes to click on the polls below and tell us. Thank you to all who take the time!
