This week has seen the exhausting spectacle of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. If you’ve kept up – or even if you haven’t – our quiz is for you!
Many observers suggest that smartphones are no longer exciting and have suggested that wearable tech will be the next big thing in technology. Maybe so, but we heard plenty of news about 3D printers and some rather interesting takes on the idea of smart TVs.
There were plenty of add-ons to existing tech, including some particularly inventive smartphone cases, and a lot of operating systems were re-tooled to run on new kinds of hardware. In particular, intelligent cars seemed to be everywhere.
Modular was another buzz-concept, with phones and games machines built for easy upgrades – or perhaps just to excite the Lego-heads.
Celebrities were in evidence, but this year seemed to be noticeable for the way they failed in actually using the tech – at least in Samsung’s epic keynote speech.
CES promises don’t always turn into reality, but this year provided a glorious and eccentric bundle of tech to watch for in the rest of the year.
