Giant Microsoft Surface 2 Aims To Make Trafalgar Square More Productive

Microsoft Surface 2 takes over Trafalgar Square, much to the confusion of tourists

Microsoft has erected a giant Surface 2 in Trafalgar Square as it seeks to preach the merits of its latest tablet to the wider public.

Members of the public are invited to test out the new tablets or speak to representatives from the company wearing loud blue hoodies, or even play a game to win tickets for a Dizzee Rascal gig.

The Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro were released in the UK earlier this week, and promise to be “the most productive tablets on the planet.”

The Windows RT-powered Surface 2 is thinner, faster and lighter than the previous model, with double speed Wi-Fi, up to three times the CPU power, a 1080p HD display and superior battery life.

Both varieties of the Surface 2 have full versions of Microsoft Office, while Windows RT 8.1 brings Microsoft Outlook to the platform for the first time. The Surface 2 comes preloaded with the software, which is just as well, as some Windows RT users have reported that their device has been bricked after they attempted to download the update from the Windows Store.

Microsoft has since issued a fix to restore affected devices although there is no indication as to when the update will return to the Window Store.
