Do you think the iPad is a genuine business tool, or merely a consumption device? We want to know

Last month, Apple took the wraps off the two latest additions to its tablet range – the iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display.

The Cupertino-based company essentially invented the current tablet market with the original iPad and they’ve proved popular. Numerous other manufacturers including Samsung, Amazon and Google have released competitors.

iPad Air (1)But Microsoft has always been keen to stress its, biased, opinion that the iPad (and other tablets for that matter) are merely consumption devices and are not as productive as a Windows powered-PC or tablet capable of running a full version of Microsoft Office.

Whether or not this is true is entirely up to the user, but Apple’s inclusion of a 64-bit A7 processor in both of the latest iPads is seen by some as an effort to make the devices truly enterprise class, while all new iPads will have free access to the iWork productivity suite.
