Video: Intel Says Touch Will Transform Work

The struggles of Windows 8 have changed the popular opinion about the place of the touchscreen in office systems. But Intel’s Stuart Dommett is convinced that touch can change the way we work.

It’s not so much the pinching and swiping that you can do today, but the changes that will come down the line as we move to gesture based computing, the Intel business marketing manager told TechWeeklEurope in a video interview (below).

Changing the rules

“I’ve moulded my own working style to touch,” said Dommett. In many ways touching  the screen is more natural than moving your hand to the side to use a mouse, and in the future, we will be using other means to command our computers.

All of this has been predicted for a long while, but right now, we are seeing apps start to be adapted to handle touch input. “We are just at the start,” he told us.
