Asus will reportedly manufacture the next Google Nexus 10, replacing Samsung

Asus will manufacture the next version of the Google Nexus 10, according to reports, replacing Samsung which made the first generation tablet.

A  number of companies are reportedly engaged in a bidding war to produce Google’s flagship Nexus brande smartphones and tablets, which are regarded as offering the purest form of Android, unaltered by carriers or manufacturers.

Leaked images showing a product listing for the Google Nexus 10 Wi-Fi as manufactured by Asus have added credibility to the reports, as has the two companies’ strong working relationship.

The new Nexus 7 will apparently be the world’s highest resolution seven-inch tablet thanks to its 1920 x 1200 display.

It will be the first device running Android version 4.3 and is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, while the RAM has been doubled to 2GB, facilitating faster app switching. The tablet supports Qi wireless charging, Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth 4.0, and there will be a 4G enabled version of the device.

The most recent Nexus-branded smartphone is the LG Nexus 4, which has boosted LG’s smartphone fortunes in recent months, while Samsung and HTC have previously built smartphones in the range.

It has been suggested the new Asus-manufactured Google Nexus 10 will be released in time for Christmas.
