Ware2Go, the UPS (NYSE:UPS) founded company enabling merchants of all sizes to achieve 1- to 2-day shipping guarantees, today announced a new initiative to offset carbon emissions for all small parcel, LTL, FTL, and air shipments within their network. The program will retroactively offset all shipments made since January 2021, and all Ware2Go clients are automatically enrolled at no cost to the merchant. Through a partnership with Pachama, Ware2Go will participate in a variety of carbon offset programs, from reforestation to old growth forest conservation, in order to make the maximum impact.
“At Ware2Go, our goal is to build merchant relationships based on shared values. Sustainability is a key brand initiative for many of our clients and for Ware2Go as well,” said Patrick Cadic, Ware2Go Chief Revenue Officer, “Our priority was to make our Carbon Offset Shipping Network easy to adopt and simply part of doing business with Ware2Go. That’s why we’ve chosen to fully fund the initiative and to automatically enroll all of our current and future clients so they can extend their sustainability efforts all the way to their customers’ doorsteps.”
Pachama and Ware2Go’s analysts will work together to determine the monthly carbon emissions in metric tonnes of all shipments across Ware2Go’s network. Based on these emissions, Ware2Go will purchase the appropriate number of carbon credits on their clients’ behalf. Through a diverse portfolio of projects they will use carbon credits to restore vital ecosystems, prevent deforestation of old-growth forests, and transition working forests to sustainable forests with mature trees that are capable of sequestering a high volume of CO2.
Ware2Go client O2 Recovery is thrilled that Ware2Go has done the heavy lifting in building a sustainable fulfillment network. “O2 exists to be a force for positive change,” said founder and CEO Dave Colina. “As we’ve grown, so has our carbon impact. But we’re determined to leave nothing behind but our legacy of honesty, humility and hustle. The fact that Ware2Go has made this initiative universal across their network has deepened our partnership, which is based not only on a shared commitment to the growth of our business but also on the pursuit of the most ethical practices. Ware2Go has made it easy for us to achieve both carbon neutrality and 2-day shipping, which are both very important to us and our customers.”
“Partnering with Ware2Go made sense from the start,” said Pachama co-founder and CEO Diego Saez Gil. “Pachama is using AI to democratize carbon offsetting in the same way that Ware2Go is using machine learning to simplify the supply chain for businesses of all sizes. Together we’re lowering the point of entry on sustainability so that any business can make a positive impact.”
Latest trends show that shoppers are becoming increasingly more eco-conscious in their purchasing decisions, but a study released by Shopify revealed that many shoppers will choose speed and convenience over a more sustainable option when it comes to ecommerce shipping. In fact, according to Harvard Business Review, 65% of consumers want to support sustainable brands, but only 26% actually do. Ware2Go’s 1- to 2-day ground delivery network, backed by their new Carbon Offset Shipping Network, eliminates the need for brands and consumers to choose between fast and sustainable shipping options.
Ware2Go, a UPS Company, is changing the traditional 3PL model to make 1-2-day delivery easy and affordable for all merchants by positioning products closer to end customers for a fast, inexpensive and reliable order-to-delivery experience. Ware2Go offers an integrated solution for warehousing, pick, pack, and shipping services to businesses of all sizes through an intuitive cloud-based technology platform that makes it easy to extend your distribution footprint and scale up and down as your operational needs change. Ware2Go simplifies nationwide fulfillment to help you meet your customers’ needs and expectations.
