Triller, the AI-powered music video “social streaming”™ platform, today announced IDPizzle, a featured artist on the Triller app, has signed a record deal with UMG/Virgin UK. Triller began promoting IDPizzle’s “Dior Remix (Billie Jin)” on its platform in April and it quickly gained traction around the world, ultimately ending in a recording contract.
“Triller continues to influence the music industry by promoting new talent and giving artists the push they need to catch their big break,” said Mike Lu, CEO, Triller. “We congratulate IDPizzle on his record deal and look forward to big things from him in the future.”
“Dior Remix” was first featured on Triller on April 9, 2020. As momentum started to grow, IDPizzle posted a Triller video on his Instagram with the song alongside an exclusive play on No Signal’s Radio’s 10v10 event, which by that time had gained international attention, particularly in France and French-influenced African countries including the Congo. Within a month, the single had attracted the attention of UMG/Virgin UK, and IDPizzle soon announced he had signed a recording contract. IDPizzle is now working on an official music video release for the “Dior Remix.”
“Big thanks to Triller and to everyone who has supported ‘Dior Remix.’ I’m so honored,” said IDPizzle. “This is only the beginning…”
“IDPizzle has burst onto the scene with an infectious single that has captured the attention of music lovers around the world,” said Knacai Ceres-McLeod, digital marketing manager, Virgin. “We’re proud and excited to add IDPizzle to our artist lineup and look forward to achieving great things together.”
Quickly approaching close to 100 million downloads, Triller is one of the world’s most successful short-form apps. Unlike other sites which continue to exploit artists’ music, Triller’s “social streaming” interacts on Triller artists’ gain streams to help them make money off of their music. IDPizzle’s signing follows the recent announcement that Drigyy secured a record deal after trending on Triller as well.
