The&Partnership announced today it has named Colm Murphy as chief
strategy officer, New York. Murphy brings extensive experience leading
brand and creative strategy for clients including JP Morgan Chase, Under
Armour, Ancestry, Georgia Pacific and Kraft Heinz to the new role where
he will lead strategy across the agency’s integrated creative and media
offerings. This will encompass managing teams across both
The&Partnership and its media agency m/SIX.

Murphy joins The&Partnership from McCann New York where he served as
chief strategy officer, overseeing a team of 60 across all strategy
disciplines. Prior to McCann, he was co-head of strategy at Droga5,
where he led brand strategy across the agency, helping clients implement
culturally-resonant engagement platforms to guide and inspire their
total brand experience. Key highlights include helping grow the JP
Morgan Chase account from new business prospect to the agency’s largest
client; creating the Cannes Lion Cyber Grand Prix-winning “Did you
mean?” campaign for Mailchimp; and launching Ancestry’s “Declaration
Descendants” campaign which recreated John Trumbull’s celebrated
“Declaration of Independence” painting with modern descendants of the
Declaration’s signers.

Murphy is the latest high-profile Droga5 veteran hired for the New York
office in recent months, joining Agnes Fischer and Justin Ruben who were
recently tapped, respectively, as president, New York and executive
creative director, New York. The moves follow a strong 2018 for
The&Partnership, which saw the firm grow by more than 30 percent while
creating standout work for clients including The Wall Street Journal,
Carlsberg Group and Chico’s.

“Colm has a remarkable facility for connecting the dots between what
brands want to say, what consumers want to hear and what approach will
best drive a brand’s business objectives. He pushes both clients and
creatives to get to the right work,” said Agnes Fischer, president, New
York at The&Partnership. “He’s a great addition to our leadership team
and will play a key role in driving our ongoing agency growth.”

Previous to his work at Droga5, Murphy led strategy for several of JWT’s
flagship clients in London and New York, including Rolex, Shell, Kraft
and Mondelez. He received his bachelor’s degree in information
management from University College London and master’s in computing
science from Imperial College London.

“In this environment of unprecedented change we have to do things
differently to help build brands for the future. The&Partnership’s
smarter model is more audience and client-centric, and it’s working,”
said Murphy. “I’m thrilled to join the talented team here as we continue
to build upon the success which has made the firm one of the bright
spots in the industry.”
