The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL), an independent provider of broad-based testing and standards conformance solutions for the networking industry, today announced the release of Test Sentinel 2.0, a test automation tool that supports the Broadband Forum’s Gfast Certification, DSL testing, and now Wi-Fi testing.
This latest release, expands the capabilities of Test Sentinel’s custom testing, allowing users to create and run their own test scripts, while utilizing all of Test Sentinel’s existing features, including the results database, equipment normalization, device control, and robust debugging. Users can create custom tests from scratch or can modify existing tests from the Test Sentinel software library of Broadband Forum tests: ID-337, ID-337i2, TR-114, TR-100, and TR-067.
The 2.0 release also marks the first inclusion of support for Wi-Fi testing, such as the Broadband Forum’s TR-398 Wi-Fi In-Premises Performance Test Plan. Test Sentinel 2.0 includes full support for octoScope’s Wireless Testbeds, controlling all the necessary test equipment required for automatic testing of an access point device. The UNH-IOL expects Wi-Fi testing support to continue to grow and expand with additional tests scripts to be included in future releases.
Users will also notice a number of other enhancements, with a new user interface theme and an update to many of the current features including a fully customizable test creator. The test creator allows users to create and customize tests using a fully functional test editor GUI, run tests with in-depth control, and save portable XML based test files.
The UNH-IOL will be hosting an educational webinar providing an overview of the Test Sentinel software as well as provide details into the latest features and updates. To register for the upcoming UHN-IOL webinar on 10 October 2019 at 11:00 AM ET, and to learn more about their Gfast and DSL test software please visit the webinar registration page.
