Telos®
Corporation
, a leading provider of security solutions for the
world’s most security-conscious organizations, today announced that
retired U.S. Air Force Col. David Kovach, vice president of strategic
business development at Telos, has been named a recipient of the Armed
Force Communications and Electronics Association’s (AFCEA) Medal of
Merit Award.

The AFCEA Medal of Merit Award is presented to professionals in the
fields of communications, electronics, intelligence and information
systems who have shown a sustained level of dedicated service to AFCEA.
With over 48 years of service to the military and AFCEA, Col. Kovach has
an extensive list of accomplishments, a few of which include:
co-founding the Alamo AFCEA Chapter Event (ACE), which is now AFCEA’s
largest and most profitable chapter-hosted activity; ongoing training
and mentoring of AFCEA Alamo Board leaders; and providing over 400 hours
of annual volunteer effort across all Alamo Chapter functions.

“We are thrilled to see the success Col. Kovach has brought to the Alamo
Chapter,” said John B. Wood, chief executive officer at Telos. “The
mission and goals of AFCEA are something we identify with at Telos, and
we’re proud to have Dave on our team supporting the Alamo Chapter in
their efforts to bring quality training and volunteer opportunities to
the industry.”

In addition to the Medal of Merit, Col. Kovach’s AFCEA Alamo Chapter was
awarded the Harry C. Ingles Award, which is presented to chapters that
have most significantly contributed to the goals of AFCEA. The Alamo
Chapter moved up to the largest membership category (Mega-Chapter) when
it surpassed 1,000 members in 2016. Since then, the chapter has won the
Ingles Award in its first two years at this higher level.

“AFCEA’s primary mission is to facilitate ethical dialogue between
industry and our defense, homeland security and intelligence
communities,” said Col. Kovach. “Thanks in large part to partners like
Telos Corporation, the chapter has made tremendous strides in our growth
and expansion efforts. Winning the Harry C. Ingles Award for the third
time in four years is a testament to the commitment and motivation of
all of our members and partners.”
