Tacoma Power Selects PCI for its Transition to the California ISO (CAISO) Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM)

Tacoma Power has selected PCI to deploy multiple enterprise cloud platform solutions as part of its organizational roadmap to join the Western Energy Imbalance Market (WEIM) operated by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). The selection was made as the result of a competitive process and Tacoma Power is scheduled for WEIM go-live in 2022.

The contract with PCI is for a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that will provide critical functionality required for WEIM participation, including:

  • Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM)
  • WEIM Bidding and Base Schedule Management for PRSC and EESC entities.
  • Meter Data Management
  • Market Settlements PRSC and EESC entities
  • System Integration and Automation
