Solutionreach, the leader in patient engagement and innovation in healthcare, announced the release of its SR Telehealth solution to help providers remain HIPAA-compliant while streamlining the process of virtual visits from scheduling through the encounter.

There has been a growing interest in the use of telemedicine for several years among patients and providers. Studies show that well over half, and up to two-thirds, of patients would use telehealth, but the industry has been slow to adapt. Suddenly, that has changed. With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare organizations of all sizes are struggling to quickly transition as many in-person visits to virtual visits as possible.

In the process, organizations are attempting to support both in-person and telehealth virtual visits with disjointed telemedicine solutions and workflows that lack integration with PM/EMRs and patient engagement tools. This results in frustrating experiences for patients, staff, and providers. The more complex the workflow, the less likely an organization will see immediate benefit from telemedicine solutions or long-term patient and provider adoption.

“Telehealth simply isn’t working for most patients and providers today,” said Josh Weiner, President and CEO of Solutionreach. “You can video chat, and that’s about it. Solutions lack data integrations, digital intake forms, smart reminders, follow-up communications, convenient payment options and more. By bringing our 20 years of patient engagement leadership to the development of SR Telehealth, we’re delivering a practical solution that meets the needs of both patients and providers.”

With the addition of SR Telehealth, Solutionreach brings the fragmented processes around scheduling, intake and pre-visit screening, appointment reminders, and the actual telehealth encounter into a single, seamless experience. Healthcare organizations of all sizes can access an end-to-end solution that facilitates both face-to-face and virtual visits by text, phone, or video. As a result, providers can deliver the right mix of care at the right time and at the right place.

SR Telehealth features include the ability to:

  • Offer virtual visit appointment types that can be scheduled through online scheduling from Solutionreach or a third party.
  • Provide instructions for the telehealth visits conducted through SR Telehealth or a third-party in a text or email appointment reminder.
  • Send links for third-party telehealth in text and email reminders.
  • Send a link via text message for a secure video visit using SR Telehealth, ahead of time or on-demand.
  • Conduct HIPAA-compliant, high-resolution virtual visits launched through SMS.
  • Automatically send out post-visit surveys for telehealth appointments conducted through SR Telehealth video or third-party tools.
  • Integrate with many practice management systems and EHRs to pull patient, appointment, and schedule information for a more streamlined workflow.

To help organizations effectively embrace and implement telehealth, Solutionreach is also offering a professional implementation service. This add-on support service will help providers implement the technology, along with best practices around change management and workflow, and roll it out successfully to their staff and patients.

“Our current environment is giving telehealth a chance to stick as a mainstream option for patient care,” said Weiner. “Despite patients’ goodwill and willingness to work with providers during this challenging time, we can’t expect that to last forever. It’s important that we use this time to master these processes to support long-term telehealth adoption.”

The SR Telehealth launch comes on the heels of the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Funding announcement that they are providing, “$200 million in funding, appropriated by Congress as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to help health care providers provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations.” More information about the FCC program can be found HERE.

SR Telehealth is included with the Solutionreach and SR Health platforms at no additional cost until July 31, 2020 to support providers and patients during this difficult time. To learn more about SR Telehealth, visit www.solutionreach.com or www.srhealth.com.
