SentinelOne,
the autonomous endpoint protection company, today announced its
SentinelOne Platform, which combines best-in-class EPP and EDR
capabilities in addition to IoT, has achieved
the designation of “In Process”
for the Federal Risk and
Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP. This designation empowers
US federal government agencies and vendors to leverage the most
innovative security solution, from the fastest growing cybersecurity
company in the market.

SentinelOne was sponsored for FedRAMP by the Office of Personnel
Management (OPM), which currently deploys the platform. After seeing the
benefits of SentinelOne first-hand, and subsequently replacing another
next-generation product, the agency sponsored SentinelOne in order to
make the solution readily available to all federal agencies.

FedRAMP provides a standardized approach to security assessment,
authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services
used by the US government. With its goal to protect US citizens data and
government sensitive information in the cloud, FedRAMP is the
government’s most rigorous security compliance framework and has
implemented standard security baselines and processes to provide both an
initial authorization of a cloud service and a mechanism for that
security package to be reused across the federal government. This saves
time, money, and effort for both Agencies and Cloud Service Providers
(CSPs).

“FedRAMP was designed to protect both US citizens personal information
and sensitive data of national interest, providing an information
security standard and rigorous, comprehensive information security
controls long recognized as the industry’s gold standard,” said Efi
Harari, Chief Legal and Trust Officer, SentinelOne. “Being sponsored by
the Office of Personnel Management and honored with this designation
underscores SentinelOne’s commitment to this rigorous program,
commitment to serving the public sector, and the solution’s
best-in-class capabilities as well as extreme ease of use.”

A cloud service that receives a FedRAMP Authority to Operate (ATO) has
met rigorous criteria for security standards. SentinelOne’s ability to
receive the generous sponsorship of OPM also underscore its achievement
of key federal objectives, such as: simplifying operations, reducing
operational overhead and improving agility by moving services to the
cloud. SentinelOne already brings this confidence to a broad array of
companies ranging from the public-sector to Fortune 10 and G2000
enterprises.

“Reaching this critical FedRAMP designation is a milestone for
SentinelOne and highlights the fact that the federal government’s
addressable cybersecurity market of more than $64bn is ready for truly
active cyber defense,” said Nicholas Warner, Chief Operating Officer,
SentinelOne. “Cyber-attacks are today’s battlegrounds and to keep up
with the constantly innovating and evolving threat landscape, our
federal government needs the best tools for the job. We are honored to
achieve this designation and look forward to working more closely with
the US federal government to protect our critical data.”

Achieving the “In Process” designation indicates that SentinelOne is
well on its way to becoming fully FedRAMP compliant in late 2019 or
early 2020, a process that is fast-tracked due to OPM’s sponsorship of
SentinelOne. This designation provides significant assurance to federal
agencies and vendors as they consider purchasing SentinelOne, knowing
that all their data would be stored in AWS GovCloud and fully supported
by SentinelOne’s quickly maturing FedRAMP program.
