PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCTI) was selected as the winner of this year’s FierceWireless Innovation Award in the category of Public Safety Technology for its public safety network testing solution.

Questex’s Fierce Innovation Awards are peer reviewed awards that highlight advances in service and equipment developments unveiled during the past 12 months. In FierceWireless’s 2019 Innovation Report announcing the winners, PCTEL’s public safety network testing solution was recognized for “making buildings safer and cutting costs for service providers, construction contractors, and building owners.”

In the past, manually testing a building using a two way radio and later compiling data into reports was time consuming and costly. PCTEL’s public safety network testing solution streamlines the grid-based testing and reporting process recommended by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and International Fire Code (IFC).

“We are thrilled that the industry recognizes PCTEL’s public safety network testing solution. PCTEL is proud to play a small part in keeping first responders safe through testing RF coverage for mission critical communications inside buildings,” said David Neumann, PCTEL’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our cost effective solution allows testing of more buildings by cutting testing and reporting time in half or more,” added Neumann.
