Parking passes for Kilgore Falls are now available on YourPassNow. An attraction in the Falling Branch area of Rocks State Park, Kilgore Falls is a 17-foot high waterfall and Maryland’s second highest vertical drop waterfall. This non-developed, environmentally sensitive area has a serene hiking trail leading back to the waterfall.

This area is popular with visitors and visitation is limited to preserve this special place. Parking passes are required for weekend and holiday visits from now until Labor Day and those with passes are guaranteed parking. Weekday visits do not require a pass. All passes are available to the public at no cost.

Parking passes become available for reservation on the Monday prior to the desired visit. Visitors may reserve a half-day time slot. Morning visitors must leave by 1 p.m. while afternoon visitors may not arrive until 2 p.m.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources introduced a pilot parking pass system last summer with the goal of decreasing traffic congestion and protecting the environmentally sensitive area.

Rocks State Park grounds are open every day from sunrise to sunset from March to October.
