Oregon Virtual Academy to Celebrate Class of 2019 at June 15 Ceremony

(ORVA) will celebrate the Class of 2019 with an
in-person commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 15 in Salem. A
tuition-free online public charter school authorized by the North Bend
School District, ORVA is available to students in grades K-12 across the
state.

“On behalf of the ORVA community, I am proud to congratulate the Class
of 2019 on all they have accomplished,” said Steven Werlein, Head of
School. “Graduation celebrates the culmination of a lot of hard work,
and we can’t wait to see what you will accomplish in the years to come.”

ORVA graduates earn their high school diplomas in a personalized
learning environment. Following graduation, members of the Class of 2019
will enroll in two- and four-year colleges and universities, enter
military service, or join the full-time workforce. Graduating seniors
report having been accepted to higher education institutions across the
country, including Brigham Young University, Liberty University, Oregon
State University, University of Oregon, and Western Oregon University,
as well as community colleges throughout the state.

Students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects and a
host of electives and attend live virtual classes taught by
state-licensed teachers. ORVA also offers in-person gatherings, field
trips and social outings to foster a sense of school community, such as
this annual graduation celebration.
