Opus Interactive, a leading provider of cloud hosting services, announces the expansion of its footprint within STACK INFRASTRUCTURE’s Portland-area data center in Hillsboro, Oregon. The 400kW and 100+ cabinet addition marks Opus Interactive’s second expansion in the last two years within the LEED Platinum Hillsboro facility to satisfy growing customer demand.

Opus is experiencing 30 percent year-over-year growth, which is largely driven by growing customer demand for distributed data processing, retail enterprise colocation, and hybrid cloud solutions in the Pacific Northwest. Recognized on Inc. 5000’s Fastest Growing Companies List for the second year in a row, Opus’ current locations include Hillsboro, Portland, Dallas, and Northern Virginia. The company’s site selection criteria include evaluating market demand, connectivity, and low PUE and power costs in a Tier 3 rated facility that offers high security, grid redundancy, renewable energy, and close proximity to submarine cable connectivity.

“Facilities matter in finding the right hybrid mix. The Opus team has spent over 23 years honing a mix of purpose-built hybrid cloud solutions for high performance, high compliance industries like government, finance, and healthcare,” adds Shannon Hulbert, CEO of Opus Interactive. “Globally, the hybrid cloud market is projected to reach $140 billion by 2025. The Pacific Northwest market ranks among the top six data center markets in the U.S. In an industry of hyperscale giants, our customers choose Opus for four reasons – expertise and industry certifications, a five-star private cloud offering, flexibility, and locations within world-class facilities. We’ve toured data centers throughout the world and STACK’s portfolio is world class, offering connectivity, reliable power with low PUE, and high-security. Our expansion brings us just shy of 1MW with STACK, and we’re excited for the opportunity to continue as their exclusive retail provider in Hillsboro.”

STACK Portland’s data center campus offers 24MW of critical capacity and 345,000 square feet of space to keep pace with evolving customer demands and growth trajectories. Additionally, the data center offers high density deployment support in excess of 25kW per cabinet, dual-factor biometric access, LEED Platinum Certification, and direct connectivity to subsea cables, hyperscale providers, and major carrier hotels. STACK is continuing to grow its footprint and capacity to bolster its commitment to being a leader in delivering flexible critical infrastructure solutions that support the complex requirements of enterprise and hyperscale deployments.

“We’re proud to support Opus Interactive as it expands and offers scalable and reliable IT infrastructure to its clients,” comments Brian Cox, Chief Executive Officer of STACK INFRASTRUCTURE. “We have deep roots and strong ties to Hillsboro, and it’s a market where we’ve built some of our most important and enduring client relationships. Hillsboro offers numerous advantages, including a technology-friendly business environment, access to key international markets serviced by subsea cables, and the availability of renewable energy. We look forward to seeing the mutual success that this partnership will bring to STACK and Opus’ clients as their requirements grow and change.”

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with STACK and serving as their exclusive retail data center partner in Oregon,” adds Eric Hulbert, President of Opus Interactive. “This expansion provides us with additional retail colocation space for our growing customer base, and we are excited to roll out the additional 100-plus cabinets to our customers.”
