Office Depot, Inc. (NASDAQ:ODP), a leading provider of business services and supplies, products and technology solutions through an integrated B2B distribution platform, has a wide portfolio of offerings that can help small, medium and enterprise businesses as they return to work, or extend work-from-home programs.

“Organizations across the country are navigating return to work planning and are facing many challenges reopening for both their employees and customers,” said Gerry Smith, chief executive officer for Office Depot, Inc. “As an integrated B2B distribution platform, we have complete solutions that are perfectly geared to help our business customers address distributed workforces, social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning practices that will remain for the foreseeable future.”

Office Depot and CompuCom are uniquely positioned to help address some of the difficulties companies and business owners are experiencing as they contemplate the reopening of physical workspaces and continue to manage remote employees. Each organization has existing solutions and is developing new offerings to address new hybrid working scenarios.

Return to Work Planning

To create a successful “return to work” plan, organizations are prioritizing the health and safety of employees as they continue to serve the needs of their customers. Office Depot’s Business Solutions Division (BSD) can assist by utilizing its data-driven approach centered around health and wellness, productivity and cost savings.

“We know that there is not a one-size fits all solution to address the new normal, which is why we are working closely to address our business customers’ concerns to help foster a culture infused with high levels of engagement and productivity no matter where their employees are working,” said Stephen Mohan, executive vice president of Business Solutions Division for Office Depot, Inc.

As part of BSD’s existing services, business customers can request a complimentary facility assessment with one of their account representatives. The findings from the assessment may identify ideas to help create a healthier and more hygienic workplace as well as other opportunities, including ways to improve their office configuration.

Additionally, Office Depot is ramping up its inventory levels and expanding its personal protective equipment (PPE) assortment to include new suppliers for masks, thermometers, face shields, gloves and more, making them more widely available to business customers. The company is also accelerating its evaluation of new products like air purification and electrostatic fogging devices that are designed to help sanitize the workplace, as well as entry control devices with thermal scanners.

Distributed Workforce Planning

While organizations responded quickly to the pandemic by implementing a temporary remote workforce, many are now considering a permanent distributed workforce. According to a recent Conference Board study of human capital executives, 77% of respondents expect that the number of employees working primarily from home will increase post pandemic.

“Remote work didn’t start with the pandemic, but the crisis drove adoption at an unprecedented scale,” said Mick Slattery, president of CompuCom. “The ‘future of work’ is no longer somewhere over the horizon, it’s here now, and CompuCom is uniquely positioned to deliver the connected workspace technologies and services businesses need to support a permanent distributed workforce.”

To transition from a temporary remote workforce to a permanent distributed workforce, organizations can partner with CompuCom to implement digital workplace solutions that help workers contribute seamlessly from anywhere, anytime while still helping to keep critical data and business processes safe.
