NIC Inc. (Nasdaq: EGOV), the nation’s leader of innovative digital
government solutions, will provide its Licensing and Registration
platform for the state of West Virginia. Charleston-based West Virginia
Interactive, LLC, an NIC company, will partner with the West Virginia
Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Public Health
(DHHR-BPH) to provide patient and caregiver registration, and business
licenses for dispensaries and cultivation facilities for the state’s new
medical cannabis program.

“NIC is excited to provide a solution to assist the state of West
Virginia’s new medical cannabis program,” said Alex Valvassori, General
Manager of NIC Licensing Solutions. “We are focused on helping West
Virginia make compliance with this highly regulated industry simpler and
more efficient.”

NIC’s licensing solution was built to serve the cannabis and hemp
industries, and other highly regulated industries, with cloud-native
technology that allows for quick deployment. The patient and caregiver
component of the platform processes new applications, issues patient
renewals, and manages patient information. The business licensing
component issues new licenses and license renewals to businesses
involved in the growing, processing, and dispensing of medical cannabis.

“The selection of a licensing solution brings West Virginia one step
closer to launching the medical cannabis program,” said Jason Frame,
Director of DHHR’s Office of Medical Cannabis. “We look forward to
working with the team to make the medical cannabis program as efficient
as possible.”

NIC and West Virginia Interactive (WVI) will provide the Company’s
recently acquired
licensing and regulatory platform concurrently
with the public-private partnership between WVI and the state of West
Virginia. WVI works with state and local government agencies to build
and manage interactive online services, including the official WV.gov
website and many DMV Online Services.

NIC currently provides its cannabis licensing solution in Maryland,
Montana, Oklahoma and Rhode Island; a custom cannabis regulatory for the
state of Oregon; a custom medical cannabis registry in Hawaii; and
dozens of tailored licensing services across the United States.
