MobileIron
(NASDAQ:MOBL), the company to introduce the industry’s first
mobile-centric, zero trust enterprise security platform, today announced
that it has become the first UEM provider to receive Common
Criteria certification against Version 3.0
of the Mobile Device
Management Protection Profile (MDMPP
v3.0
and MDMPP
Agent v3.0
) from the National Information Assurance Partnership
(NIAP). NIAP is the United States government initiative, operated by the
National Security Agency (NSA), that oversees the national program to
evaluate technology products for conformance to Common Criteria. Common
Criteria evaluations involve extensive and rigorous testing of the
security aspects of a product or system.

“We’re proud to have met the sophisticated security requirements set by
NIAP to receive the MDMPP v3.0 certification. Providing secure access to
the enterprise for all our customers, which include government agencies
with some of the most stringent requirements has always been our number
one goal. This new certification is yet another proof of our commitment
to our government customers to protect and keep safe their most
sensitive enterprise data,” said Brian Foster, SVP of product
management, MobileIron.

MDMPP v3.0 describes security requirements for Mobile Device Management
(MDM) products that allow enterprises to apply security policies to
mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. The purpose of these
policies is to establish adequate security posture to permit mobile
devices to process enterprise data and connect to enterprise network
resources.

MDMPP Agent v3.0 describes security requirements for MDM Agents to
address a range of security threats including theft of sensitive data,
unauthorized access to malicious applications, network attacks, network
eavesdropping, and physical access.

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines
(ISO/IEC 15408) used by governments, banks, and other organizations to
assess the security capabilities of technology products. Protection
Profiles provide the specific evaluation criteria used for certification
under Common Criteria. This certification gives enterprises visibility
and confidence in the security of technology products. Common Criteria
has been in effect since 1999, and the product certifications are
recognized by 30 nations.
