Delivering on the promise to make communications and collaboration more seamless for organizations of all sizes, Mitel®, a global leader in business communications, has teamed with Amazon Web Services on their development of the Amazon Chime software development kit (SDK) for extending audio calling, video calling, and screen sharing capabilities to a wide variety of applications. Mitel, whose innovation and communications expertise is trusted by more than 70 million business users, shared the collective needs of its customers with AWS to influence the launch version of the Amazon Chime SDK.

Mitel is using the Amazon Chime SDK to provide an integrated business communications experience for organizations seeking to bring together dispersed and global teams through collaboration tools that drive seamless, real-time interactions, from anywhere, on any device. The Amazon Chime SDK becomes part of Mitel’s CloudLink architecture for voice, video, chat, and microservices already hosted on AWS. With CloudLink technology, businesses can fully leverage existing communications investments while adding new capabilities from the cloud. CloudLink’s unique design helps businesses link communications channels, connect to microservices for vertically focused solutions and fuel more efficient workflows.

Quotes

“The development initiative with AWS is in line with Mitel’s overall growth strategy of enabling communications and collaboration capabilities, in this case cloud-based video capabilities, to be embedded into a host of new applications and workflows that customers can use to digitally transform their businesses, without a technology rip and replace,” said Rich Costello, Senior Research Analyst, IDC.

“Effective collaboration is more essential than ever given the increasingly global and dispersed nature of our working relationships. Piecemeal solutions fall short of enabling customers to work seamlessly across devices and applications,” said Mary McDowell, President and CEO, Mitel. “Together with AWS, Mitel is combining all the elements businesses need for a seamless collaboration experience. In working with an industry leader like AWS, we’re able to bring their resources and scale to bear in advancing our vision for helping businesses work smarter.”
