McKissock Learning, the leading national provider of online education for real estate appraisers, today announced the launch of a new professional certification called Certified Luxury Home Appraiser™ (CLHA). The CLHA certification program teaches various appraisal methodology and valuation considerations, technical skills, and professional skills specific to appraising luxury homes.
“From millennial millionaires to traditional high-end home buyers, the luxury home market requires a different approach, including how to appraise the properties,” said Ashleigh Wallach, General Manager of Appraisal Education at McKissock Learning and a Certified General Appraiser in Missouri. “To be successful in today’s changing environment, appraisers have to constantly be looking to upgrade their license and skill set, and this new luxury home appraiser certification provides working professionals with expanded opportunities, a more diverse portfolio and broader exposure to potential clients.”
To be eligible for the program, professionals must be a Certified Residential Appraiser or Certified General Appraiser in good standing.
There are three steps to the CLHA certification, including registration, completion of three courses and passing the comprehensive Demonstration of Knowledge Exam within one year. The courses to be completed for a total of 14 credit hours include:
- Understanding Luxury Home Features—7 hours.
- New Construction Essentials: Luxury Homes—3 hours.
- The Fundamentals of Appraising Luxury Homes—4 hours.
With a CLHA certification, appraisers will have demonstrated that they have acquired advanced knowledge and the ability to appraise luxury and high-end homes. CLHA certification is valid for two years and can easily be renewed to remain active.
McKissock Learning’s online courses for the CLHA certification offer flexibility and convenience for students and appraisers to learn at their own pace. Courses include engaging videos, interactive learning aids and educational specialists who are available seven days a week.
