LitLingo, a real-time AI communication analytics platform, today announced it has completed a $7.5M Series A funding round. The investment is led by Breyer Capital, joined by former IBM CEO Sam Palmisano, with participation from existing investors, including LiveOak Venture Partners, Clarke Nobiletti, and James Marsico.

Now more than ever, an organization’s success depends on effective digital communication and empowering employees with best-in-class tools to be productive in virtual and hybrid workforce environments. Founded by two product and engineering leaders who built mission-critical, real-time systems at Uber, LitLingo enables businesses to enhance communications, strengthen culture, and mitigate risk by providing real-time language analysis within platforms such as Gmail, Slack, Zendesk, and Microsoft O365. The platform was purpose-built to foster open, productive organizations in which everyone has a stake in their company’s success.

Today, LitLingo helps organizations encourage effective communication and reduce litigation, compliance, and reputational risk by flagging questionable language to the author in real time before a message is sent. LitLingo can also block message transmission and alert compliance teams for review. Additionally, LitLingo’s anonymized analysis tool offers leaders critical, actionable insights into organizational culture and real time understanding of communication patterns between teams.

The new round of funding is led by Breyer Capital, a leading global technology investor with offices in Silicon Valley and Austin that invests in the most innovative AI startups. “The future of work is going to require advanced digital communications solutions and AI-based tools. At the same time, business leaders in the C-suite and the boardroom are navigating how to effectively build and enhance company culture in an increasingly complex work environment. LitLingo is an incredibly valuable tool in our new hybrid workplaces and positioned to be one of the most important players in the digital communications analysis and management space,” said Jim Breyer, Founder and CEO of Breyer Capital. “We are proud to partner with LitLingo as it continues building a powerful, cost-effective platform that companies and their employees can leverage to optimize their business communications.”

“LitLingo is reimagining how we build culture and mitigate risk,” said Sam Palmisano, Chairman of the Center for Global Enterprise and former CEO and Chairman of IBM. “We have all seen the impact a few badly written emails can have on an organization. Yet, traditional approaches to compliance and risk mitigation are outdated, reactive, expensive, and hard to scale across large enterprises. LitLingo is a unique platform providing critical value to employees and organizations of all sizes.”

“LitLingo leverages artificial intelligence to proactively help good people avoid bad mistakes in the workplace and to help leaders foster a better workplace overall,” said Kevin Brinig, LitLingo CEO. “It’s validating to have tech luminaries and seasoned leaders like Jim and Sam recognize the value of our platform, and we are thrilled to benefit from their advice and experience as we help more companies and industries drive safer and more effective communications.”

LitLingo plans to use the capital to double the company headcount over the next twelve months at their Austin, TX headquarters and remotely. Scaling out the company’s go-to-market team will include key investments in recruiting sales, marketing, customer success, and engineering roles. Additionally, the newly secured funding will help support product enhancements, including growing its library of AI models and communication platform data and application connectors.
